  • Rescued Children : Total number of 27 children had been rescued and provided shelter to them , some of them were handed over to their parent successfully after tracking their parent with the collaboration of CWC, West Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh. Now presently we have 2 abandoned children and 6 CNCP children residing in Child Care Institute.

This initiative aims to ensure that financial or family circumstances do not prevent children from continuing their education and building a better future.
  • Organised Free Medical Camp : The Sidhartha Wisdom Welfare Society, Rama Camp organized a free medical camp health check -up for the local community, benefiting many villagers by providing basic health check-ups and medical support. The children of the CCI also benefited from the camp and received necessary health services.

Visit of the Director, and Deputy Director of Women and Child Development

In 2024, the Director of Women and Child Development, Madam Indra Malo, visited our Child Care Institute (CCI). During her visit, she informed us that funding and other necessary support facilities would be provided to the CCI.

On 07/07/2026, Shri Kina Takka, Deputy Director, Women and Child Development, along with his official team, visited our Child Care Institute (CCI). During the visit, important discussions were held regarding the development, improvement, and welfare of the CCI and the children residing there.

During the interaction, the officials assured us that they would provide possible support and assistance for the better development and functioning of the CCI. The visit was encouraging and provided valuable guidance for our future efforts.

Free Education for CNCP Students

As per the provisions for CNCP (Children in Need of Care and Protection) students, children are generally expected to commute from their homes. However, it has been observed that many children have schools located far from their homes, making regular access to education difficult.

Therefore, the CCI has taken the initiative to provide free education to all CNCP students, ensuring that distance and financial difficulties do not become barriers to their education and overall development. The CCI is providing free residential accommodation and education to all CNCP children at its own initiative and expense. The children are provided with hostel facilities, daily care, food, supervision, and educational support to ensure their safety, well-being, and continued education.

CHALLENGES FACED BY CCI

One of the major challenges faced by the CCI is the lack of regular financial funding and institutional support. Despite limited resources, the CCI continues to provide care, education, accommodation, health support, and protection to children in need.

If adequate and timely financial assistance is provided, the CCI would be able to improve its facilities, strengthen child-care services, and provide better support and opportunities for the children.

However, from 2023 until the present, the CCI has not received any financial assistance or funding. Despite this, the institute has continued to provide care and support to the children through its own resources.

Furthermore, whenever a rescued child needs to be produced before the concerned authority or taken to another required location, the travel and related expenses have had to be personally borne by the CCI management. Despite these challenges, the CCI continues its efforts to ensure the safety, care, education, and well-being of every child.

At present, there is only one Child Care Institute (CCI) serving the entire West Kameng district, and rescued children from different parts of West Kameng are referred to our CCI for care, protection, and rehabilitation.

Due to the large number of children and the wide geographical area covered, the CCI faces significant financial challenges in managing its day-to-day responsibilities. At times, we have to hire vehicles at our own expense for the transportation of rescued children, including visits to concerned authorities, hospitals, and other required places.

During emergencies, timely financial assistance is often not available, which makes it difficult for the CCI to manage essential expenses. Despite these challenges, the CCI continues to provide care, accommodation, education, counselling, health support, and protection to every child with the resources available to us.

Adequate and timely financial support would greatly help us strengthen our services, improve facilities, and provide better care and opportunities for the children of West Kameng.
